The inception of Dallas Prep kitchen was one long in the making, but a natural progression of myself both personally and professionally.
It all started a few years in Tampa. I was extremely busy with my career, being a dad, and maintaining an aesthetic physique. Cooking for my goals of being a physique competitor started to become yet another job. The grocery shopping, cooking, portioning, and clean up would consume hours of my week, hours I knew could be better spent. Knowing that diet was the key to my success, I figured there had to be a way to eat well and add those valuable hours back on my calendar. Dreaming of a solution, I started ordering my meats from a restaurant in bulk portions. They cooked it to my liking and each week I’d go pick it up. It streamlined my life and made that aspect of my competition prep an absolute breeze!
Fast forward a few years later and I find myself in Dallas, TX. I had some setbacks in life that made me step away from fitness. With the urge to get back into it, and still knowing the importance of diet, I found a restaurant that made chicken and steak kabobs just like I had back in Tampa. I’d order several of both kinds, and drive out to the restaurant on a weekly basis to pick them up. It was a hassle, and while they were prepping the food, I still felt like I was being robbed of time each week. Although the food was good, they didn’t really specialize in bulk portions- and it truly got to be super expensive. Disappointed, I went back to the traditional food prepping process. At the time, my fiancé was prepping for her bikini competitions, so the two of us prepped all our meats and veggies together. We would cook everything up in bulk and then portion out for our individual needs. The food was delicious, but again it became extremely time consuming. With both of us on a tight schedule it became nearly impossible to keep up.
Within this same time, we started having people reach out to us asking to meal prep for them! Toying with the idea of starting a bulk food service since I had since I left Tampa, I decided THIS was the perfect time to set the plan in motion! So that was that. My best friend, my fiancé, and I all worked together to start Dallas Prep Kitchen. The idea was simple. Delicious, healthy food prepared in bulk portions and delivered directly to our customers! Receiving your food through at home delivery or picking up at any of our DFW gym locations, you portion out how YOU want! Totally customizable and completely clean. All three of us understand the struggle of living in a fast-paced world where the 24 hours we have daily is just not enough. Fueling your body with nutrient dense food is key to not only achieving your fitness goals, but more importantly, maintaining an overall healthy life! That is our mission.
